Sewell-Thomas’ right field rages on despite regulations from Alabama Athletic Department

The University of Alabama Athletic Department recently imposed slightly stricter regulations on the “ragers” in the right field of Sewell-Thomas stadium, including a capacity limitation of 1,100 people, and an identification check for fans intending to consume alcohol.

“Our fans have been tremendously supportive in creating a great environment for baseball this season,” the statement from UA athletics said. “Our goal is to continue providing a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. We hope that our fans will continue to support the team and to respect both teams while representing themselves and our University in a first class manner.”

Nonetheless, the ever-boisterous right field, which has inspired its own Twitter handle, continues to vigorously support the UA baseball team. The team has seen a jump in home game attendance, averaging 3,494 fans, up from 3,262 fans a year ago.
